STEVEN GERRARD admits he is expecting ‘developments’ over the futures of his Rangers keepers before the end of the transfer window.

Allan McGregor has established himself as first choice between the sticks since returning to Ibrox on a two-year deal. this summer.

And Jak Alnwick has seemingly moved ahead of Wes Foderingham in the Light Blues’ order.

Gerrard said: “The best way for me to answer that is to say there could be developments before the window closes.

“If there’s not, they stay and all fight it out.

“All the goalkeepers know clearly because I have had chats with them face to face.

“I know, in terms of the experienced goalies, they probably won’t want to stay to be part of three. So I am sure they are in the background trying to sort the situation out themselves.

“We’ll see how it plays out but don’t be surprised if there are any developments on it in the next week or so.”

McGregor is one of ten players that Gerrard has added to his Ibrox squad in recent weeks.

Rangers will kick-off their Premiership campaign against Aberdeen tomorrow.

And boss Gerrard remains in the market for further reinforcements before the close of business at the end of the month.

“Yes and no,” he said when asked if there had been any progress on new signings. “There is nothing to say on any individual, but we are trying very hard to progress on it.

“I’m hoping for a new face in the next three or four days. And we are still looking for those pieces to sort the squad.

“I’ll be satisfied with a few more in.”
