WES FODERINGHAM Handed his first competitive start of the season as he replaced Allan McGregor. Made two smart saves from Burke in the first half but left helpless as Barisic diverted the ball into his own net. 7

JAMES TAVERNIER Was one that Gerrard could have looked to rest between European outings but led the Gers out and performed well. Had a hand in both of Morelos’ goals before the break and set up the third as well. 8

CONNOR GOLDSON Another impressive and commanding showing from the centre-half. Won his tackles and headers and cleared his lines when required. 8

NIKOLA KATIC Equipped himself well alongside Goldson once again. Involved in a nasty clash of heads with Brophy but recovered to see out the game. 7

BORNA BARISIC Croat caught the eye on his debut last weekend but this was a quieter afternoon. Unlucky to see Jones’ cross rebound off him into the net as Killie made it 2-1. 6

ANDY HALLIDAY Kept his place in the team but switched from full-back to a more natural role in the middle of the park. A solid effort as he played his part. 7

SCOTT ARFIELD Found it difficult to get going at times as he lost his footing on several occasions on the plastic pitch. Involved in the second and third goals, though, as he made his presence felt in the final third. 7

OVIE EJARIA Onus was on him to be the creative force in midfield and he again showed nice touches at times. Saw enough of the ball and was involved regularly, including in the third goal. 7

JAMIE MURPHY Winger lasted less than a quarter of an hour before being stretchered off. Twisted his knee when chasing a long ball and was in clear distress as he received treatment. 2

RYAN KENT Put in a shift on the left flank but didn’t pose a real threat often enough. Involved in a couple of moves and there are signs he is capable of better. 6

ALFREDO MORELOS Took both goals well in the first half as he headed home from close range and then fired a low shot across Bachmann. Completed his hat-trick with a poacher’s finish as he rounded off a terrific performance in style. 9

Substitutes:

DANIEL CANDEIAS (for Murphy) Introduced earlier than he thought he might be after replacing the injured Murphy. A typical performance from the Portuguese as he combined workrate with crucial touches in the final third. 7

UMAR SADIQ (for Morelos) On for the final minutes but had few chances to get involved as he looks for his first competitive goal. 2

ROSS MCCRORIE (for Arfield) Helped Gerrard’s side see the game out as Rangers eased over the finishing line. 2
