Rangers legend Ally McCoist has compared Celtic's Ryan Christie to Leicester City playmaker James Maddison.

Christie has started the season in unbelievable form and has already managed to score 11 goals from the midfield.

Maddison, meanwhile, has himself kicked-off the campaign on fire with one goal in two assists in just six matches for the Foxes as they sit third in the Premier League table.

Robbie Savage claims no Celtic player would make Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City starting XI

McCoist watched on at Easter Road on Saturday afternoon as Hibs held Celtic to a 1-1 draw in the league.

And after Christie leapt brilliantly to head the leveller after a Kris Ajer own goal had given the hosts a lead, McCoist heaped praise on the Scotland cap.

Speaking on BT Sport, McCoist gushed: "I can see similarities [with Christie] in the boy Maddison at Leicester.

"They both take the ball the same way, very creative and lovely to watch going forward.

"He's been excellent.

"I'm a fan of Tom Rogic and I think things happen when he's on the pitch.

"But he doesn't look as though he's going to get back in because of Christie's form."

It came a short time before former English Premier League player Robbie Savage criticised Celtic's players by claiming NONE of them would make it into Brendan Rodgers' Leicester starting XI.
