Joe Hart may have enjoyed a wonderful, trophy-laden career while playing for some top teams.

However, despite plying his trade at the top of football for much of his time as a player, Simon Jordan has issued a reminder that he won't be bowing out at the highest level if Rangers win the Premiership.

Celtic trail their arch-Glasgow rivals by two points at the top of the table.

Hart has been at the Hoops for three years having signed under Ange Postecoglou in the summer of 2021.

He will call time on his playing days at the end of the season. The 36-year-old confirmed his decision yesterday.

His choice has been a hot topic of discussion among pundits, with Pat Bonner insisting he's been a £1m bargain for his former side.

The 75-times capped England goalkeeper has won five trophies in his time in Scotland.

But he and his teammates will need to put in the hard yards if they're to ensure he leaves on a high this summer.

Jim White, Martin Keown and ex-Cyrstal Palace owner Jordan addressed Hart's decision on the talkSPORT airwaves this morning. And the discussion went like this.

Keown said: "It's been seven or eight years since Pep went in there (Man City) and he was one of the first players to be taken out of that side. He carried on and fought his way back so you have to be impressed. You are a long time finished."

Jordan said: "Nobody has a career forever. He has played 170 games in the last eight years and economically there is probably no necessity, so he has decided it is time for the next stage of his career."

Keown admitted: "I am saying that in the second part if his career his standards fell below that level."

Jordan responded: 'I think in his pomp at international level there were games that he didn't focus at key moments and that ultimately cost England at key opportunities. That should be thrown into the mix as well."

Keown came back in: "He has shown character over the last seven or eight years. I don't know if there are other offers but to go out at the top - if you consider Celtic are at the top - he is going to go out...."

Jordan laughed, as he issued a reminder: 'Well if he swans off at the end of this season and Rangers win the league he won't be going out on top will he?"
