Rangers full-back Ridvan Yilmaz has reportedly stated he will be fit to face Celtic despite fears of an injury layoff at Rangers.

The defender was forced off through injury while on international duty with Turkiye this month.

And that cast doubt over whether Yilmaz would be sidelined for a prolonged period ahead of the crucial title run in and upcoming derby fixture against Celtic.

However, the Daily Record reports Yilmaz is only set for seven to 10 days out through injury before a return to action at Ibrox.

It means he could be back involved for the match against  Celtic on Sunday, April 7.

A source said: “We’re hoping the recovery process will only take seven to 10 days. Fortunately the injury is not too severe.

"While we don’t want to put an exact date on it, we’re hoping he will be in the squad or, even better, on the pitch against Celtic.”

Turkiye boss Vincenzo Morella, when quizzed on Yilmaz and whether he would return to Rangers after the knock, said: "I will think about this issue

"We need to evaluate the physical condition of our football players.

"I also have a plan in my mind for young people to gain experience in such matches.

"I will make my decisions after making a good evaluation."

The recent report goes on to claim Yilmaz had willing suitors in January with Galatasaray interested in a transfer swoop.

However, any return to Turkiye has been ruled out with Yilmaz happy at Rangers having landed significant playing time under Philippe Clement.

The source claimed: “Ridvan has no interest in returning to Turkiye, he is very happy to be a Rangers player and living in Glasgow. Galatasaray wanted to sign him badly in January but he wasn’t keen."
