FORMER Celt Aiden McGeady reckons his Spartak Moscow side were close to stunning Barcelona in Celtic's Champions League group.
The Russians went down 3-2 in the Nou Camp, with Barca relying on Lionel Messi's double to dig them out of a hole.
Ex-Parkhead winger McGeady was disappointed to lose in Spain, but he believes Spartak can take a lot of positives from the Group G encounter.
He said: "We played well. We passed the ball quickly and well. Barcelona are one of the best teams in the world, have the best players, but we came close to winning.
"Personally, I think I performed okay and I set up the second goal."
