Glasgow-based Kerr was one of a number of MGM Scotland boxers to enjoy meeting 49-0 Mayweather in person and admits it was a hugely inspiring and motivating experience as he prepares for his next professional fight.

The 4-0 super welterweight said: “It’s not often that you get the chance to meet a true boxing hero like Floyd Mayweather, it was a huge thrill and a brilliant night overall.

“He was a very genuine guy, communicating with everyone in the room, including me. I will always remember the opportunity I had to speak with him and I have a photograph to remember the occasion by.

“His interview with Johnny Nelson was extremely insightful. The success Floyd has achieved in the sport of boxing is unprecedented and the motivation I gained from meeting him will certainly inspire me during my next fight.”

Kerr’s fifth professional bout will take place at Bellahouston Sports Centre on Saturday, February 27, when he faces Bolton’s Chris Jenkinson.

MGM Scotland’s Sam Kynoch said: “It was a privilege to be involved in Floyd Mayweather’s visit to Glasgow and he was an absolute pleasure to meet and deal with.

“It was a bonus that Marc and others from the MGM Scotland stable enjoyed meeting Floyd and hearing about his career, which can only help them as they look to progress their own.”
