ALEX MORRISON admits Friday night's mouth-watering bill at Braehead will also be one of the most nerve-wracking nights in his near 60-year association with the noble art.

The fight godfather will witness a host of fighters from his stable taking part in one of the strongest cards ever promoted in Scottish professional boxing.

Ricky Burns' must-win comeback bout, a WBC world lightweight title eliminator against Dejan Zlaticanin, is top of the bill.

Before that, Willie Limond meets Curtis Woodhouse in a fight that could be the last of the Glaswegian's career, with both the British and Commonwealth light-welterweight titles at stake.

And Big Alex reckons his emotions will go through the blender at Braehead, such is his level of attachment to the fighters.

He said: "Friday night's bill is one that I have been looking forward to as much as any I have ever been involved with.

"But it is also one I am a bit nervous about as Willie and Ricky, whom I have shared so much with over the years, both need to win.

"In terms of Ricky staying at world title level, then he must win. However, at 31 he still has time to come again should he lose, although I strongly believe he will come through.

"But from Willie's point of view, then this is going to be it, if he comes off second best."

The undercard boasts more explosive match-ups such as Stephen Simmons' cruiserweight clash with Wadi Camacho and an all-Scottish rematch for the Celtic featherweight title between Jon Slowey and Kris Hughes.

Also featuring are unbeaten home prospects Michael Roberts and David Brophy.

"We have a very strong undercard and that is great from the perspective of Scottish boxing," added Morrison. "You want the next generation coming through and hopefully with the likes of Slowey and big Simmons, we have that."
