TERENCE CRAWFORD today told Ricky Burns he is "ready to win" despite copping flak over his delayed arrival in Glasgow.

The unbeaten American missed his flight and now only has five days to prepare for Saturday's WBO lightweight battle at the SECC.

SportTimes last night caught up with Crawford just hours after he touched down in Scotland.

And in an exclusive interview at Morrison's gym, he rubbished suggestions that jet lag would hamper his build-up. He said: "I'm here to win and I'm ready to win. I am in the best condition of my life and ready to show the people of Scotland just what I can do.

"This the moment I have trained all my career for and I have not come all the way to Glasgow to head home to the States empty-handed.

"Arriving on Monday is no problem for me man and I feel good. Like I say, I'm here to win and if I didn't believe I would do so I wouldn't have come."

But despite the fact he'd only had a few hours sleep Crawford appeared calm and relaxed and even managed to enjoy a laugh and a joke with his camp before they were whisked away into Morrison's gym, from where he will meet the media today.

Crawford goes intio the fight with 16 knockouts in an unblemished 22-fight ring CV, but he would not be drawn into predicting an early night's work on Saturday.

He said: "I am not going to predict a win in this or that round. All I will say is I am confident that I will prevail."
