SCOTT HARRISON looks set to have his boxing licence restored.

As reported in SportTimes, the former WBO featherweight champion had his licence suspended after failing to produce proof that he had no outstanding legal matters to answer in Scotland and that no international arrest warrant was in existence for him.

Harrison has now given the required documentation to the Scottish Area Council of the British Boxing Board of Control and his suspension has been lifted.

Scottish Area chairman Bernard Connolly will personally recommend to the BBBC that the 36-year-old is given the green light to fight again.

Connolly said: "Scott Harrison made a personal appearance at our area meeting with the documentation requested of him, which proved he had no outstanding legal cases to answer home or abroad.

"He has done that and under rule 25 of the British Boxing Board of Control Articles we have lifted his suspension. At the board meeting in Cardiff today I will be recommending Scott is allowed to resume his boxing career.

"Scott looked in great physical shape when he came before us on Sunday and he has given us the assurances we requested. I have no doubt he is hungry and determined to get his career going again.

"Ultimately the final decision is that of the board but I am fairly confident they will agree with our recommendation and findings."

If the rubber stamp is applied in Cardiff today, the former two-time world champion can re-launch a pugilistic career that had at one stage seemed set to go into orbit. But he has been left in no doubt his licence will be quickly removed if he steps out of line again.

Connolly said: "The Scottish Area Council have made it quite clear to Scott that if there is any case of misconduct to answer in the future, then he will have his licence revoked immediately.

"I would say he is fully aware that his conduct must be spotless going forward."

Harrison's last fight was in April when he lost a European title challenge at the hands of Rochdale's Liam Walsh.

If he gets the BBBC's approval to return to the ring, it is likely he will be in action before Christmas.
