BOXING SCOTLAND chairman Richard Thomas has branded the amateur game's finals night at the Emirates Arena on Friday, March 28, as crunch time in the bid to make the Commonwealth Games.

At stake for the best 24 amateur pugilists in the country will not only be the Scottish title for each respective weight division but the chance to fight their way into contention for Team Scotland ahead of the hugely-anticipated Commonwealth Games this summer.

The Amateur fight supremo said: "It's crunch time for our best boxers as they attempt to show what truly exceptional talents they are. It's also an unmissable, action-packed night for boxing fans with so much on the line.

"The championships have gone from strength-to-strength, and this year's event is undoubtedly the pinnacle. The run-up has been incredible, but the finals will be on an entirely different scale and we hope will be fought out in front of a sell-out crowd of 5,000.

"This is the biggest championship in our biggest sporting year, and with titles up for grabs and the Commonwealth Games within arm's reach too the stakes don't get much higher."

The running order for the championship finals is:

Male 52kg Final: Reece McFadden (Forgewood) v Ryan McCutcheon (Clovenstone); Male 56kg Final: Joe Ham (Hayfield) v Brandon Singh (Denbeath); Female 57kg Final: Farah Jamill (Bellahouston) v Sinead Price Greene (Doonhammers); Female 60kg Final: Katie Atkin (Lochend) v Lynn Calder (Springhill); Male 60kg Final: Charlie Flynn (Glasgow Phoenix) v Mark McKeown (Keir Hardie); Male 64kg Final: Josh Taylor (Lochend) v Sam Ball (Greenock); Female 69kg Final: Gardner Moore (Heriot Watt) v Gemma Brodie (Renfrewshire); Male 69kg Final: Connor Law (Glenrothes) v Lewis Benson (Lochend); Male 75kg Final: Aston Brown (Lochend) v Kieran Smith (Springhill); Male 81kg Final: Scott Forrest (Springhill) v Grant Quigley (Port Glasgow).
