Cardiff Devils managing director Todd Kelman has confirmed no offer has been made to former Braehead Clan forward Ben Davies – but there have been discussions.

The Great Britain international is currently out of contract and has been training in Wales after returning home for the summer.

But Kelman has urged against reading too much into the fact Davies has been training at the club's arena all summer.

He said: "I genuinely don't know where we are at the moment, but I know his intentions are to go across to the East Coast League and try-out with a team there.

"Ben has been on the ice with our team most of the summer, but that should be no indication of anything at this stage."

If a move were to happen, it would mark a return home for the Welshman, who has spent the last two seasons in Glasgow with Clan.

And Kelman admits Davies is a player he wouldn't knock back if the chance arose to bring him home.

He added: "Ben's a name we are talking about, but my coach, Andrew Lord, and I like to take our time with these decisions.

"I wouldn't say 'no' to Ben Davies, but it is certainly not a shoo-in, we haven't made an offer and it hasn't got to that stage yet."
