The old song goes I'd Rather Stay Here in Kirkcaldy, but it's a sentiment not shared by Braehead Clan forward Craig Peacock ahead of a trip to the Kingdom of Fife.

Ryan Finnerty's men finally bring their three-week road trip to a close this weekend with a jaunt of up take on Fife Flyers tonight before concluding business tomorrow at Murrayfield away to the Edinburgh Capitals.

The fixture at the Fife Ice Arena this evening, as always, will be a fierce and feisty encounter between the two rivals. No love is lost in this battle and it was a clash former Belfast Giant Peacock had to be briefed on by his Clan mates before his first taste of the fixture back in October.

Now faced with a trip back to Kirkcaldy here, the Englishman is well prepared for the frosty reception he and the men in purple will face in this EIHL grudge match.

"The atmosphere at these games is great and I was told by the guys that had been at the club before me that it's a different animal going to Fife as a Braehead player," he said.

"I heard a lot about it when I moved over. From my previous experience, Fife is always a tough building to go to and even Finner said this was a different rivalry than guys had seen before.

"It's unlike anything I've ever experienced before and you have to play in it to appreciate what it's about.

"After beating them twice over a weekend last month, it's nice to have that advantage over them as we head back there.

"But both teams have moved on. Teams change and progress and they'll be looking to improve, just as we'll look to continue our dominance over them."

Braehead go into this weekend in eighth place but two wins from two could potentially shoot them up into the top half of the table

"The second games of both weekends, we were unfortunate not to get the wins," said Peackock of the last two Sunday games. "Our team's definitely going in the right direction and it will be nice to take four points out of this weekend."
