SCOTT BROWN will sort out bad boy Nadir Ciftci and make sure he doesn’t drag Celtic’s name through the mire.

Former Celtic star Joe Miller today backed the no-nonsense Hoops skipper to lay down the ground rules to Parkhead-bound Ciftci.

He said: “Once he goes there and sees the stature of Celtic, he will realise certain things.

“If boys step out of line they don’t last there. He’ll also have Scott Brown to keep him in line.”

The Turk is expected to move from Dundee United once the two clubs come to an agreement for the 23-year-old striker.

A fee of around or just over £1.5m is expected to seal the deal.

The move, though, is seen by some as a risk for Celtic given Ciftci’s past indiscretions.

He has a case to answer with the SFA over the alleged ‘biting’’ incident which occurred against Dundee on the last day of the season.

However, Miller believes the size of Celtic and the reputations of those players already at the club will force him to behave.

The ex-Parkhead winger said: “The quality around him will maybe bring him down a peg or two. He will be there to learn and maybe enhance his game.”

Miller believes the Turk will add something to his old side – but he is far from the finished article. Miller said: “He had a relatively good season for Dundee United. He stands out more in the side because he does have that something different from the continent that you don’t often see in the Scottish league.

“It would be a good move for him if he gets it. But I’m sure he’d have to compete for his place in the side.

“Celtic are trying to build a squad of younger players there who they can develop and maybe move again.

“I’m sure Ciftci would get his opportunity. He has to grab it when he gets it. I have seen him being outstanding in some games.

"In others, you are maybe only watching him play for 45 minutes before he disappears.

“He would be going to a better club where there are better players round about him.

“He will learn more. It’s all about his development and I think he would do well.”
