RONNY DEILA did not hide his irritation with Stefan Johansen last night after the Norwegian midfielder caused another penalty furore.

Johansen was fouled by Hordur Arnason to give Celtic a spot-kick – and the chance to open up a 3-0 lead ahead of next week’s second leg in Iceland.

But designated penalty taker Leigh Griffiths was challenged by Johansen for the ball as he went to take the spot-kick and, just as happened in the League Cup final, a spat over who should take the kick ensued before the bench stepped in to tell Griffiths to take it.

The player then watched as Gunnar Nielsen saved his attempt and Deila was not happy with the unprofessionalism on display by Johansen.

“It should be very clear – Leigh Griffiths was to take the penalties,” he said.

“That’s something we have to get out of the way.

“It’s happened before but that’s hopefully the last time we see that because that’s nothing about being professional or a team.

“We shouldn’t fight about a penalty.

“It was very clear who was going to take that penalty and that’s how it’s going to be in the future.

“Of course it affected Leigh. It put extra pressure on him.

“Everybody knows that when you have a penalty the longer you wait the more chance there is of you missing.

“I don’t know why Stefan did what he did, I haven’t asked him yet.

“But 3-0 is a totally different result from 2-0 so it’s clear we’d be in a better position had we scored another goal.

“It’s something we need to take about because we can’t have it like this.

“I can understand it if Leigh was angry afterwards but it’s happened and we have to learn from this experience and make it better next time.”
