CELTIC striker Nadir Ciftci has been hit with an eight-match ban for biting Dundee’s Jim McAlister.
The incident occurred on May 24 when Ciftci, then of Dundee United, was involved in an incident during a 3-0 win at Tannadice.
Ciftci arrived at Hampden earlier today where he appeared in front of a disciplinary panel faced with breaking rule 202 by committing ‘excessive misconduct’.
The 23-year-old was subsequently found in breach and was slapped with a ban.
Six of the games will be sat out with immediate effect, while two are suspended until the end of the forthcoming campaign pending any further offence taking place.
