FORMER Celtic striker Scott McDonald has backed his old club to get the crucial away goals he believes will see them progress in the Champions League.
The Motherwell marksman was in the Parkhead crowd for the Hoops' 1-0 victory in the first leg of their third qualifying round tie last Wednesday and was impressed with Azerbaijani opponents Qarabag.
However, the 31-year-old, who faced the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United, AC Milan and Arsenal during 24 European appearances for Celtic, believes Ronny Deila's side can score again in Baku and earn passage to the play-off round.
McDonald said: "I strongly think they will get through. I was at the first leg and Qarabag were impressive. They were very intricate and they passed the ball really well.
"But they never really hurt Celtic, defensively. [Dedryck] Boyata and [Virgil] van Dijk looked very comfortable at times.
"Obviously they'll be more of a threat at home, but I fancy Celtic to go there and maybe score one or two."
