RONNY DEILA has attributed Tom Rogic's sparkling form to the Australian being now properly looked after by the club after his injury nightmare.

The Australian missed the whole of last season, primarily because of a groin problem, and was all-but forgotten by the Celtic supporters ahead of this campaign.

The 22-year-old midfielder, to his great credit, forced himself into Deila's plans with a series of fine performances in pre-season and was man of the match in Sunday's 6-0 win over Dundee, scoring the first goal in a dominant individual performance.

And the Celtic manager believes this much-needed run of fitness and form is down to the fact the player is one of a few who have been put on specialised training programmes.

Deila said: "Tom's form is nothing to do now being lucky with injury, rather that we are taking the fitness of every player really seriously and we do everything we can so they train to avoid injuries.

"You need consistency in training. You need to look after them if they have been out for a long time with injury. You can't allow them to train every day because they will get injured again.

"So we have built up Tom. This is why he has been playing well and he had a really good game on Sunday.

"It is the same with James Forrest. Now you can see him doing much better because he is fit. This is just the start. We have to keep them motivated, disciplined and we will get consistency from them.

"The players themselves have to understand what it's going to take to make them good. They must learn how to deal with their bodies and keep them ready for training and games."

Rogic and his team-mates produced their best performance of the season albeit against a dismal Dundee side.

Deila was most pleased with the fact that for the first time in two months the entire team played well from first minute to last, something he wants to see more of from now on.

He said: "The team spirit was the thing that pleased me most about Sunday's win. It is so important that we work very hard for each other, and I mean all eleven players on the pitch at the same time.

"Everyone did their job, the match-plan was executed and we want to do that for 90 minutes. This is what we did at the weekend.

"It was great to see us score four goals in the second-half. When we have so much possession as we did, we should always be ready to finish off teams in the second-half."

Celtic entertain Raith Rovers tomorrow night in the League Cup. Nadir Ciftci is due a domestic start and there might be one or two tweaks, but Deila is reluctant to make too many changes to a winning team.

He said: "We want to keep winning and performing. We will pick the team we think will be the best one to beat Raith Rovers.

"There will be some changes but not a huge amount."
