SCOTT BROWN credited Fenerbahce’s tactical switch for denying Celtic a first Europa League group win of the campaign. The Turks’ decision to move to two strikers and deny the home defence time on the ball proved pivotal as Fenerbahce recovered from being two goals down to take an away point.

The Celtic captain said: “What changed? They played two up front and changed their gameplan a little bit. We were passing it out from the back but they stopped that so we had to kick it long at times. But we still managed to get the ball down and play as well as we possibly could. It just wasn’t to be today.”

Conceding goals just before and after the half-time interval was a blow, Brown admitted. “It’s mentally draining losing goals at that time but we still fought on. We created a few more chances and I think we played very well here at home. It’s a great group for us against some hard teams.”
