Celtic manager Ronny Deila believes Charlie Mulgrew will almost certainly drop out of the Scotland squad.
Mulgrew has been missing for Celtic recently with a thigh injury and Deila expects him to fail the national team's fitness assessment ahead of Thursday's Euro 2016 qualifier against Poland at Hampden.
Scotland boss Gordon Strachan has other concerns over Ikechi Anya, James Morrison and Darren Fletcher.
Deila said about Mulgrew: "He will struggle. He will meet up and they will take a scan and they will know what to do with it. But he has still not trained for us."
Deila admitted it would be "strange" if Mulgrew was to play on Thursday having not trained for his club since suffering the injury last month.
"But I have good communication with Gordon and I completely trust what they are doing," he added.
Anya went off with a muscle problem late in Watford's draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.
West Brom midfielder James Morrison, who is suspended against the Poles but could face Gibraltar on Sunday, went off with an ankle problem against Crystal Palace while Baggies boss Tony Pulis reported that Fletcher had finished the game with a knock.
