Inverness midfielder Iain Vigurs senses they can pile more misery on a Celtic side jaded by recent disappointments.

The Ladbrokes Premiership leaders visit Caley Thistle on Sunday fresh from their Europa League exit.

Celtic have suffered three consecutive defeats in Europe, the latest a last-gasp 2-1 home defeat by Ajax, and were held by Kilmarnock last weekend.

The Hoops have Nir Bitton and Stefan Johansen back from suspension but Charlie Mulgrew went off with a recurrence of his thigh injury against Ajax to join Scott Brown on the sidelines and Kris Commons remains a doubt.

Vigurs said: "I would say it's a good time to play Celtic. The gaffer might have said it's a bad time because their results have not been too great, but I watched the game yesterday and I think they could be tired from their exploits.

"But is there ever a good time to play Celtic? They've got some great players and are always on point about what they want to do. It's about what we do. We are well-drilled and have a game plan that we will stick to.

"You obviously have a few players like Bitton and Johansen that weren't playing that could come in on Sunday so they are obviously a bit fresher.

"But with the pressure Celtic are on, when you feel the pressure you get a bit leggier 10 or 20 minutes earlier than you would normally do if you had the confidence of winning every game.

"So I think there are some weaknesses in their game that we can definitely exploit and that's what we hope to do.

"Look at last week, Kilmarnock got a 0-0 at Parkhead. They have dropped a few points. You are playing against the green and white but it's 11 men you are playing against and we know when we are on song we can pass most teams off the park."

Vigurs is feeling more confident after struggling to get back up to speed after missing the final six months of last season at Motherwell with a back injury.

"Slow but it's getting there," he said when asked about his form. "The last couple of games I felt a lot more comfortable with my game.

"My confidence took a big hit during that injury, which I didn't actually realise. I didn't realise until a few games in how much it would affect me because it was my first serious injury.

"But I'm a lot happier with my game now and I think I'm just going to get better throughout this season with the more games I play."
