LEWIS BELL lived the dream as Celtic emerged as Hampden heroes against Rangers twelve months ago.

Now the midfielder is determined to play his own part in a Glasgow Cup success and help the Hoops make it three-in-a-row at Ibrox.

Bell was an unused substitute as goals from Josh Kerr and Mark Hill clinched a 2-0 win for Celtic at the National Stadium last term.

And the 16-year-old hopes to experience that winning feeling once again as John McLaughlan’s side look to retain their title tonight.

Bell said: “It is one of those games that all the players are looking forward to. We are trying to keep our heads and remain relaxed.

“I was part of the squad that won it last year and now I want to replicate that this year. I was on the bench but I was part of the celebrations and it was fantastic.

“It was something all the boys need to experience because it was one of the best nights of my life. It is a feeling we all want to experience.

“It feels like you have won the Champions League. Beating Rangers in the final was indescribable. Being in the changing room afterwards, there was every emotion going through your body.

“Even though I never got on, it was still the best feeling I have had and you are striving for more every time you play. It would be great to win it at Ibrox.

“We will see what happens on the night but if we get our heads down and work hard then I am sure we will get the trophy.

“It would be lovely to win it at Ibrox and in their own backyard. But we need to get our heads down, work hard and hopefully we will get the trophy back to Parkhead.”

After getting a taste of derby success at Hampden, Bell is now determined to lift the silverware once again as the young Celts look to make a name for themselves.

A crowd of 3000 will watch the action unfold at Ibrox and the Hoops captain is relishing a chance to shine on the big stage and inspire his side to Glasgow Cup glory.

He said: “Normal crowds are just mums and dads and any relatives that want to come and watch a game. We have played in front of big crowds before going away to tournaments.

“We have played in front of a couple of thousand so the boys won’t be fazed. We are all looking forward to the game.

“We will embrace it and it will spur us on. We want to do well for the club and hopefully get the win.

“It is a great feeling being at Celtic and this is the kind of platform we need to build on as players. There is no better place to do it than in a cup final.

“We are all striving to play well on the night and hopefully we can catch the eye and progress to the next level.”
