Rangers and Hibs go head-to-head in this weekend’s William Hill Scottish Cup Final and while I think it is a difficult call, I would expect that Rangers will just about edge it.
I thought they performed very well against Celtic and they also played well when they put Dundee out too.
And yet, Hibs too have played well in the run up to the Final.
The big question for Hibs is whether they can lift themselves from the mental blow that was inflicted when they lost out to Falkirk last week. It wasn’t just the result, as damaging as it was, but also the manner of it.
So I suspect that it has been quite a job for Alan Stubbs to lift his squad ahead of the trip to Hampoden. You just never know in football and in some regards you just wouldn’t put it past Anthony Stokes popping up to net a screamer of a winner.
I do think it will be close.
For some time I thought that it might hinder Rangers not playing, while Hibs were able to stay fresh with the games coming but now that they haven’t got the results they deserve then I am not so sure.
Time will tell when they line up on Saturday afternoon.
