Scott Sinclair has rediscovered his mojo since arriving at Celtic Park.

The midfielder has been a seamless addition to the Hoops squad since he made a scoring debut at Tynecastle only a matter of weeks ago.

Yet, some of the darkest days of his career were spent at Manchester City where he toiled to make an impression at the club.

Now, with the chance to play against the English side he will be looking to make his mark.

"It’s been some start to my Celtic career and the draw is just another huge bonus," said Sinclair. “It’s one of the main reasons why I came to Glasgow.

“I wanted to play Champions League football. The manager initially just wanted me back playing football and for sure the enjoyment is coming back.

“I’m playing week-in-week-out and I will improve. When I was at City I didn’t really feel as part of things perhaps the way I should have.

"You were either a sub or you were completely left out and not involved at all. Here is it totally different. I feel at home already and I feel a big part of things.

"Going into the Champions League that’s what I was looking for because it’s all about building confidence. The manager and the games have given me that.”

Sinclair is still house-hunting as he looks to bed in properly in Glasgow. His brother kept him up to date on Thursday evening with news of the draw as he viewed properties in the city, but he has embraced the challenge that Group C holds.

“It’s a big draw and for me, it will be great to go back to City," he said. “I can enjoy being part of the Champions League group with Celtic.

“Obviously there are still a few faces I know at City but as yet I haven’t spoken to anyone from there.

“We could have got an easier group, probably one not as glamorous. So as a player this is what you want, it’s what the Champions League is all about.

“You want to play Man City and Barca. It is going to be extremely difficult but we have nothing to prove and nothing to lose.

“We can go out and enjoy it and it’s tremendous for the fans that these are the teams we are playing."

Sinclair has already showed an eye for goal since arriving at the club but he has insisted that there is still more to come from him.

"I had a good pre-season back at Villa and coming to Celtic it was all about getting games," he explained. "From that point of view I feel so much better but for sure there is more to come from me this season.

“There’s always more to give. I’ve had a good start but that’s all.

“We have an amazing couple of weeks coming up with the Rangers game and then heading to Barca.

“That’s what it’s all about and it’s a huge thing for the fans, the players and everyone connected with the club. Things can only get better in that regard."
