GORDON STRACHAN has recalled Hull City midfielder Shaun Maloney in his Scotland squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifying double-header.

The Tartan Army will face Lithuania at Hampden Park on Saturday 8 October before travelling to take on Slovakia on Tuesday 11 October.

Maloney, who has scored seven times in 47 caps for his country, was left out of the team for the opening day win against Malta but has been brought back in after scoring one goal in three Premier League games for Hull City this season.

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths is selected after missing the first game through injury and he is joined by Rangers captain Lee Wallace in the squad.

Fulham midfielder Kevin McDonald is the only player named in the previous squad to have dropped out of Strachan's 28-man selection this time.

Scotland opened their campaign with a 5-1 win away to Malta at the beginning of September and also face a trip to Wembley to take on England in November.
