CELTIC kid Kristoffer Ajer accepts he may have to go out on loan in January to establish himself at Parkhead.

The 18-year-old Norwegian cost the Hoops £600,000 when Ronny Deila bought him, but Brendan Rodgers has been content to play him in the development squad instead of the first team.

Rodgers recently admitted he could send Ajer out on loan and the youngster would be prepared to do that at the start of the new year.

Ajer said: “If we agree with the club and we find a team where I am going to play, then it is a possibility.

“At Celtic, I am still a kid. It’s different from Norway when people think you are too old when you are 18! Here you are a boy until you are 22.

“I am very happy with the way it is going here. I have a tough plan to improve my physical and technical skills. I feel I have developed well and I’ve got to know the environment at a good British club. Of course, I would have hoped to play more and get some first team opportunities, but I have only been here four months.

“I have been told Celtic are satisfied with my progress. This is a long-term project and the manager talks to me during training. I am pleased with how it is going.”
