It isn’t a huge surprise that Kolo Toure is a guy that Brendan Rodgers would like to take into the coaching side of things

He is a player that Rodgers knows well as a person and by all accounts he is a thorough professional.

Having a positive influence like that in and around the team is good when you are bringing a lot of young players through.

Toure’s main remit when he arrived this summer was to come in and steady the Celtic defence in order to navigate them through the qualifiers and into the group stages of the Champions League, which he done.

His legs might not entirely be gone just yet but they are certainly on the wane. He is a good, solid player to have as cover domestically but having him stay and lend some of that experience to the coaching field seems a sensible option.

Meanwhile, while Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair have been exceptional for Celtic this season, I would have to say that at this halfway point of the campaign that no-one has surpassed Scott Brown in terms of his consistency and just how influential he has been to the team.

He has been entirely re-invigorated since the arrival of Rodgers and if he maintains the same level of performance then you would have to expect that he will there or thereabouts when the individual awards are handed out at the end of the season.
