EMILIO IZAGUIRRE is in danger of being dropped by Honduras after losing his place at Celtic, just 12 caps short of reaching his international century.

The 30-year-old has returned to the sidelines at Parkhead after wonderkid Kieran Tierney’s recovery from injury.

He has yet to feature this year under Brendan Rodgers, although he has already made 16 appearances this term.

Izaguirre has won 88 caps for Honduras and is regarded as a key player for them.

But he could lose his spot for their vital World Cup double-header against USA and Costa Rica next month, with manager Jorge Luis Pinto admitting he’s concerned.

Pinto said: “I am worried about Emilio Izaguirre at Celtic because he does not play at all just now.

“I have to hope he starts getting games again.

“If he continues not to play, we would have to look at him once he gets here and evaluate whether he is ready to play for us or not.

“But yes, his situation at Celtic is a concern for me.”
