Brendan Rodgers made a beeline for Faissal El Bakhtaoui at the full-time whistle yesterday afternoon after the Dundee substitute netted a cracking 20-year goal against the Hoops.

It ignited a fightback from Dundee and although Celtic held on for all three points, his strike offered a glimpse of what he is capable of.

And Dundee boss Paul Hartley has called on the player to do it more often.

"That shows what he can do but he needs to do it more often," he said.

"That's been his problem this season, he's been inconsistent.

"We knew it would be a step up for him because he's jumped two leagues and we had to stay patient.

"He scored 30 for Dunfermline and that was never going to happen here, so it#'s been a slow process.

"But we know the ability and quality that he does have."

And Hartley remains confident of getting Dundee into a top six position.

"We have four games before the split, 12 points to play for, and we will have a go," he said.

"If we get to the top six, then great. If not, it's about making sure we are safe and secure for next year.

"We were pretty comfortable in the first half. We knew we would give up a lot of possession because of the quality Celtic have.

"But the goal just before half time changed the thought process.

"If it's 0-0, it's a different story when you speak to the players but it can happen.

"Cammy did well but Celtic got the break of the ball and got a but lucky with the deflection.

"We regrouped at half-time and told the players we were still in it.

"The second goal was poor from us.We didn't stay on our feet and didn't match the midfield runner.

"But we stayed in it, we put Celtic under pressure, got the goal and then Haber had a chance.

"We threw balls in the box and they had to change their shape."
