CELTIC defender Kris Ajer insists his loan stint at Kilmarnock has been a success – and is determined to sign off on a high.

The 19-year-old has made 14 first-team starts since joining the Rugby Park club on loan in January.

He said: “It’s been brilliant for me staying here for a lot of months, playing regularly and I’ve met some really good guys.

“The staff have been amazing, teaching me everything every day at training, watching clips after the games so I’m learning and enjoying it a lot.

“I’m enjoying playing regularly every week and being in the dressing room with a lot of young guys, I’ve made some really good friends and spent time with them on days off as well.”

Kilmarnock are six points clear of 11th place Motherwell, who they face next Tuesday, and Ajer is hoping victory at home to Inverness on Saturday will all but secure their safety.

He added: “We didn’t perform as well as we wanted last weekend [against Dundee] so of course we want to bounce back from that result.”
