AN East End football club with ties to Celtic has paid tribute to one of their former scouts who died earlier this month.

St Roch's Junior FC held a minute silence for John McStay at their game against Kilsyth Rangers on Saturday.

John is the father of Hoops legends Paul, Willie and Raymond McStay.

He was a scout at Celtic for many years and paved the way for several players to join the club.

Celtic previously said the McStays had been "part of the fabric" of Celtic FC for more than 100 years, since Jimmy McStay first joined in 1912, followed by his brother Willie.

St Roch's also welcomed the family of James McGrory to the stadium on Saturday.

The club's stadium, which is in Royston, is named after the Celtic legend who started his career at St Roch's.

The club said they welcomed the 'McGrory clan' including the player's daughter, granddaughter and great grandson.
