GORDON (5): Form has dipped in recent weeks and was culpable for the goal that allowed St Johnstone to hold the lead for such a long period on Saturday afternoon. Sliced banana kick out gave Saints the easiest of goals.

RALSTON (6): Played Steven Maclean onside for the goal after playing the ball back to Gordon but difficult apportion blame to the young defender. Busy periods for him in the game, especially in the opening half. Replaced by McGregor as Rodgers switched to a back three as Celtic looked to get back into the game.

LUSTIG (6): Looked leggy after playing over in Kazakhstan earlier in the week. Played in the middle of defence alongside Bitton and a few moments where he lost concentration. Hit the crossbar with an effort late on as Celtic looked for a winner.

BITTON (6): Another afternoon at the back. His distribution with the ball is good but struggles with the more aggressive elements of the role.

TIERNEY (6): Seemed to take a blow to the side of the face after being caught by the forearm of MacLean in what was a deliberate swing. To be fair to the Hoops kid, he didn’t make much of the incident.

BROWN (6): Another who looked as though he was feeling the effects of the midweek encounter. Tired legs and a few sloppy moments with the ball although at the heart of everything in the middle of the park.

NTCHAM (5): Played the first period before the changes were rung but looked tired. Not able to make the same kind of mark on the game that he has in recent performances for Celtic. Perhaps inevitable given that he arrived at Celtic without having had a full pre-season under his belt.

ROGIC (6): Looked lively in the early stages and was most likely to create something but tired as the game went on.

FORREST (6): Taken off at the break as Rodgers rang the changes. Struggled to make much of an impact.

SINCLAIR (7): Celtic’s best player. Full of running and trickery as he tore at the St Johnstone defence, particularly in the second period. Denied a goal by the woodwork but teed up McGregor for the goal that levelled the game.

GRIFFITHS (6): Struggled. Had a couple of half chances in the opening half but looked jaded. Saints defender Joe Shaughnessy kept close watch on the striker who hit the side-netting with one effort.

HAYES (5): Arrived after the interval but toiled to fully impose himself on the game. Worked hard but still looks as though he needs to bed into the team.

ARMSTRONG (6): On at the break and almost netted shortly after his arrival with an effort that Alan Mannus tipped over the bar.

MCGREGOR (7): Scored the goal that preserved Celtic’s invincibles tag. Industrious performance when he came on as Rodgers went for the jugular and he played a part in Celtic’s control of the final stages of the encounter.
