Gordon: Punched a Fabio Cardoso header clear at a free-kick in the first half. Had precious little to do other than that in the opening 45 minutes. Palmed an Alfredo Morelos header clear from close range after the visitors had taken the lead. Played on after suffering a knock late on. 7

Lustig: A diving header defused a Rangers attack and kept the ball away from Morelos early on. Was well placed to hook a Josh Windass cut back out for a corner after his team had edged in front. An assured display. 7

Simunovic: Made a crucial intervention in the 16th minute when James Tavernier squared the ball to Morelos. Carried out his defensive duties with the utmost professionalism thereafter. Had a hand in the opening goal. 7

Boyata: The Belgian centre back took his place in the starting line-up for the second time in four days. Showed no signs of rustiness despite his lengthy injury lay-off. Required treatment after being fouled by Morelos shortly before half-time. But he dominated the Columbian striker. Was booked for persistent fouling in the second half. 7

Tierney: Coped with the threat posed by both Daniel Candeias and James Tavernier down his wing admirably. Always looked capable of carving out an opening on his regular forays upfield. Hard to believe the left back is still just 20. 7

Brown: Just the usual from the Celtic captain. He bossed the midfield and made sure his side controlled the game. Stole possession repeatedly. His composure on the ball is extraordinary. He was commanding in the air too. Angered Pedro Caixinha with a challenge on Morelos just before half-time. He was unperturbed. 8

Armstrong: Preferred to £4.5 million summer signing Olivier Ntcham in central midfield. Justified his selection. His use of the ball was exemplary throughout the 90 minutes. Tested Wes Foderingham with a low drive in the first half. Slipped after being sent clear by Tom Rogic not long after that. But he produced a fine performance. 7.

Roberts: The £12 million Manchester City man was, as expected, given the nod ahead of James Forrest on the right. Gave Rangers right back Lee Hodson a torrid afternoon which the Northern Irishman will want to forget. Set up Leigh Griffiths for the second before making way for James Forrest. What will he be like when he’s fully fit? 8

Rogic: Went close with a shot from the edge of the Rangers penalty box in the very first minute. Lurked with ominous intent thereafter. Opened the scoring in the 50th minute with a beautifully controlled shot at a Griffiths corner. Was replaced by Callum McGregor in the 63rd minute. 7

Sinclair: Beavered away tirelessly without exerting a huge influence on proceedings. Was well marshalled by the Rangers defence throughout. But he always looked capable of creating something. Shot just over after a jinking run into the box on the hour mark. 7

Griffiths: The striker curled a free-kick narrowly wide in the fifth minute. He headed a Kieran Tierney cross over shortly afterwards. Then tested Wes Foderingham with a long-range shot. Deserved his goal in the 65th minute His finish after being sent through by was Roberts was delightful. 7
