Callum McGregor has received a belated call-up to the Scotland squad for the forthcoming World Cup matches against Slovakia and Slovenia.
Despite injuries to his Celtic colleagues Scott Brown and Stuart Armstrong, who were ruled out of Gordon Strachan’s plans on Friday, McGregor’s place wasn’t confirmed until earlier today, on the back of his double against Hibs which maintained Celtic’s unbeaten domestic run.
The 24-year-old has scored six goals in 15 appearances this season for the champions.
