BAYERN MUNICH have confirmed that Jupp Heynckes has returned to manage the club for a third time.
The veteran manager left the Bavarian giants for retirement in 2013 after leading them to a Champions League, Bundesliga and German Cup treble.
However, it was announced on Friday that the 72-year-old will be the successor to Carlo Ancelotti after signing a deal until the end of the season.
He said: "I would not have returned to any other club in the world, but FC Bayern München is in my heart.
"My coaching team and I will now do everything that the team will present the fans soon again with successful football. I am very much looking forward to this task."
Bayern welcome Celtic to the Allianz Arena on 18 October in their crunch Champions League meeting, before a return clash at Parkhead on 31 October.
Both sides have beaten Anderlecht and lost to Paris Saint-Germain so far and they go into the game level on three points in Group B.
