THE journey to Munich and the nature of the contest will have taken something out of Celtic.

And the outcome of tomorrow’s League Cup semi-final could hinge with on whether Brendan Rodgers goes with the same team again, or, utilises the strength and depth he has in the squad.

The temptation must be there to freshen things up in the midfield. With Tom Rogic and Callum McGregor relatively fresh, I wouldn’t be too surprised to see one of them start ahead of Stuart Armstrong or Olivier Ntcham.

Because for me this tie will be won or lost across the midfield where Celtic will go up against John McGinn, arguably the best non-Celtic player in the league this season.

I was very impressed by McGinn in the 2-2 game earlier in the season when Neil Lennon’s team gave Celtic a real test.

He wasn’t overawed. Indeed, he thrived in the the battle and scored a couple of crackers.

In fact, I’d say Hibs were the best team to visit Celtic in the SPFL this season. They have everything to gain, and this won’t be a tie where Celtic can take time and play themselves up to speed.

Hibs will be at it from the off, but I do expect Celtic to have too much for them, especially defensively if Jozo Simunovic starts, and up front, where Leigh Griffiths will relish facing his old club.
