Fresh on the back of a six-year contract, Kieran Tierney went out and put in another exceptional performance against Arjen Robben.

I thought the youngster was impressive and he is a player that just seems to get better and better.

And while I keep hearing that it is inevitable there will be big money moves offered to Tierney, my own view is that they might want to coin the same song from Tierney as they have for Brendan Rodgers; my gut feeling is that he will be here to take charge of the push for 10-in-a-row.

Will he get offers? Yes. If he keeps playing the way he is, they'll be coming from all over.

Glasgow Times: Kieran Tierney is at Celtic for the long haul

You never know what happens in football or whether he gets a move that it is too hard to turn down but right now this boy's head and heart is at Celtic.

He is a level-headed boy. His head has not been turned by the promise of the grass been greener somewhere else and for me that is reflected in the manner in which he continues to develop.

He is working just now under a manager who has a reputation for getting out onto the coaching pitch to work with players and I think Tierney has benefitted hugely from that.

His whole game has gone up another level and is Tuesday showed anything it is that he is already performing at the very highest level.

The other thing you have to note is the amount of Scots out there doing it at this level for Celtic at the minute – Stuart Armstrong, Scott Brown, James Forrest, Callum McGregor, Craig Gordon, Leigh Griffiths. While Celtic have kicked on under Rodgers, so too has he offered scope for the new national manager to build a team based around the spine of the Celts who are excelling at the minute.

I was particularly pleased for McGregor and Forrest the other night because they tend to dip under the radar at times but they really showed up well and it will have done their confidence no harm at all.
