James Forrest is one of the players within the Celtic team this season who have kicked on another level.

The winger netted his 50th Celtic goal against Dundee and his 12th for the season and you have to say that he is playing the best football of his career at the minute.

You do wonder about the effect Patrick Roberts coming in might have had.

The fact that there was a player there brought in at considerable expense to play in his position no doubt gave him something to think about, but he has been exceptional this season.

To be honest, I think Forrest and Kieran Tierney have been the two that have caught my eye most consistently this season although I would also have to say that Scott Brown has been up there too.

Forrest was one of these guys who suffered with a lot of muscular injuries as he came into the first-team but all of that seems to have settled down, without ever compromising his pace.

I think you have to applaud the medical and fitness teams for ensuring that he is in peak physical condition. There is no doubt that Celtic are seeing the best of him now and I am sure that following a break in January, he’ll be ready to kick on again.
