Brechin are at Celtic Park this afternoon and from Celtic’s perspective it is just a case of going out and being professional.
None of us would truly expect to see any kind of upset but that doesn’t mean that you go into the game with any lack of respect or a feeling that the result will be given easily.
It is always good to get started with a home tie and this is the perfect chance for Celtic to start to build up a head of steam now.
It is a busy couple of weeks with midweek games against Thistle on Tuesday and then Hibs and Hearts to follow on from that but there is nothing like the congestion of last month.
It feels as though there are periods when games seem to be squashed together and I wonder if it would make more sense to space them out a little bit more. In any case, it has been a three week lay-off for Celtic and I suspect there will be more than a few looking forward to getting back out and playing – and certainly a stadium looking forward to seeing them.
