DE VRIES: One sliced clearance in the early stages that required Jack Hendry to boot the ball into row z. Distribution sometimes raises an eye but overall did not have too much to deal with. 6

GAMBOA: Rare start for the right-back as Mikael Lustig was given a breather. Got up and down the flank. 6

HENDRY: Deployed in a central defensive berth and looks like a composed addition to Celtic’s backline. Comfortable with the ball at his feet and seems to have gelled quickly into the back four. 6

AJER: Early header that Alan Mannus held as he got himself forward for a set-piece. Defensively still looks as though he loses concentration at times, as glimpsed in the second period when he went to ground against Murray Davidson and let the Saints player take the break of the ball. 6

MILLER: Deputised for Kieran Tierney who was given a break given the volume of games he has played this term. Tried to get forward as often as possible to put pressure on the St Johnstone defence. 6

MUSONDA: Celtic got a glimpse of the potential of the on-loan Chelsea playmaker during the week when he came on to unlock the Zenit defence. Started the game against St Johnstone but best effort was a curling free-kick that was held by Alan Mannus. 6

ROGIC: First appearance in 10 weeks after being out with a knee injury. Got an hour of football under his belt as he started his comeback. Sight of the player back in action will have delighted the Hoops support given his ability to change a game. 6

EBOUE KOUASSI: Positioned just in front of the back four but although he was kept busy throughout he struggled to really impose himself on the St Johnstone midfield. 6

MCGREGOR: Captain for the day after his heroics against Zenit St Petersburg on Thursday night. One cracking ball across the face of the six-yard box that no-one could get on the end of which seemed to epitomised Celtic’s performance for much of the day. 6

SINCLAIR: Had one run in the opening minutes of the second period that teed up Edouard but was quiet for most of the game. One snapshot at the near post in the late stages of the game. 6

EDOUARD: One real chance when the ball seemed to get stuck under his feet in the second period but other than that was a frustrating afternoon for the French forward. Replaced by Dembele.5

FORREST: Took over from Tom Rogic at the hour mark as he tried to eek out a goal and break St Johnstone down. 5

DEMBELE: Replaced fellow countryman Edourad with just under 20 minutes of regulation time remaining. One header that looped well wide of the target. 5

TIERNEY: On for the last ten minutes of the game as Celtic tried to force a winner. Played a super ball through to Sinclair who in turn put in an inviting ball across face of goal but there were no takers. 5
