DE VRIES: Relieved to see one second-half effort from Morton midfielder Andrew Murdoch slip by his post but other than that had little of note to trouble him. (6)

AJER: One header just wide of the target shortly before the break as Celtic looked to break Morton down. Relatively composed at the back for the duration. (6)

SIMUNOVIC: Not too much to do in a game that Celtic dominated. With the Parkhead side enjoying the bulk of possession there wasn’t much chance for the defender to break a sweat. (6)

COMPPER: Finally got to make his debut for the club and sailed through it after one initial misplaced pass. Featured for the best part of 80 minutes before making way for Callum McGregor. Interesting to see if he will be in the starting line-up for next week’s game against Rangers. (6)

FORREST: Nice cut-back for Odsonne Edouard for the last of the afternoon. Struggled to find a way through Morton in a stodgy opening half but better in the second period. (6)

ROGIC: Thought he had broken the deadlock with a long range effort that was palmed away by Morton keeper Derek Gaston. Came closer minutes later with a volley into the side-netting. The architect of the crucial opening goal when he put the ball in for Dembele. Last notable involvement before going off. (7)

BROWN: Cracking pass through to James Forrest in the build-up to Celtic’s last goal. Industrial and effective performance in the middle of the park as the Parkhead side eased their way into the semi-finals of the completion. (7)

NTCHAM: One volley towards the end of this game that was well held by Gaston. Charged with keeping an eye on Gary Harkins in the middle of the park who pinged the ball around with some elegance in the opening period. (7)

SINCLAIR: Off at the break after a fairly indifferent 45 minutes. Still struggling to find the form that was evident throughout the entirety of the last campaign. (5)

TIERNEY: Usual shift and deployed in more of a wing-back role. Looks a little leggy, which is unsurprising given the sheer volume of games he has played this season. This week should give him some time to recharge. (6)

DEMBELE: Early header cleared off the line in the opening stages but got the goal that mattered with a powerful header that finally broke Morton’s resistance. Claimed the second from the spot after he was clipped by Mikey Doyle. TV pictures suggested the infringement was just outside the box. (8)

EDOUARD: Decent impact when he arrived in the immediate aftermath of the break. Had two quick chances to open the scoring but one effort was straight at Gaston and the other just wide. Deserved his goal on the 90-minute when his deflected effort went high into the net. (7)

MUSONDA: On for the final 20 minutes as he got a bit of game time under his belt. (5)

MCGREGOR: Another late arrival into proceedings. Will be keen to reclaim his place for Sunday’s game against Rangers. (4)
