I think it will be Argentina who I am rooting for at the World Cup.

I just have a feeling that this year is going to belong to Lionel Messi. People talk about having to win a World Cup to be seen as a truly great player but I think that is nonsense.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi have been the two best players on the planet for the last decade and I don’t think that anyone could possibly quibble about their respective talents – or how hard they work.

But for me, Argentina have a fantastic team. It isn’t just Messi, as special as he is, but that front three as a collective. Sergio Aguero and Angel Di Maria will compliment Messi and although they have got to the tournament on the back of a pretty lacklustre qualification campaign, I think this might actually work in their favour.

There isn’t too much expected of them because of their form of late but I just have a feeling that this will be the year for Messi to light up the tournament. It could well be his last chance at going and winning the World Cup and although Argentina don’t look the strongest at the back, with the attacking personnel they have available to them then you just never know.

I am going to covering some games in my capacity as a pundit and I have to say that I am really looking forward to it. We all have great memories of growing up and watching the World Cup and it is the highest privilege you can get to go and play there for your country.

The Celtic support will be out in force to cheer on their players who are out there – and I’m sure Dedryck Boyata will have a few extra fans when Belgium take on England in the final game of the group.
