Neymar is truly a top-class player, but his conduct after the match between Celtic and PSG was anything but.

His refusal to shake hands with Tony Ralston, an 18-year-old lad who he had been up against in a good, honest battle all evening, just reeked of a lack of humility.

The Brazilian superstar should realise that he is a role model to children all over the world, and that these youngsters will look to follow his example.

In terms of attitude at least, they would be far better to follow the example of his young opponent on the night, who I think handled himself really well.

Ralston will perhaps feel he was a little at fault for PSG’s opening goal, but it was a brilliant ball played inside him by the wonderful Adrien Rabiot and Neymar of course went on to finish it well.

But I felt that Ralston’s performance was certainly one of the best from a Celtic player on the night, and he should be proud of the way that he shrugged off that early disappointment to go on and produce a good display against one of the world’s best players.

Neymar certainly knew he had been in a game by the end of it, and while Ralston fouled him on a few occasions, his challenges were certainly whole-hearted rather than malicious.

If only a few more Celtic players adopted such a mentality to stop their direct opponent, then maybe the scoreline wouldn’t have been quite so emphatic.

It is great to see so many promising young players being given a chance by Brendan Rodgers, even in the biggest matches, and the likes of Calvin Miller aren’t too far away either.

For Ralston, he can walk away from the evening with his head held high, which is more than I can say for Neymar.
