CRAIG GORDON

Pulled off a quite superb one-handed save to keep out a Louis Moult header from a few yards out at 1-0. Had little else to do, a Moult first-half free-kick was simple enough for him, which would have pleased him after Paris. 6

MIKAEL LUSTIG

The Swede started despite limping off in Paris and was his usual consistent self. Made some crucial headed clearances, was solid in possession even if some of his crossing wasn’t up to scratch. He is Mr Dependable and likes a scrap. 7

DEDRYCK BOYATA

Marked Moult and, until the game got away from Motherwell, it was an intriguing and fairly equal battle. Without being brilliant, the defender pretty much cruised it. Let’s put it this way, it was a lot better compared to last Wednesday night. 7

JOZO SIMUNOVIC

If only this guy could stay clear of injuries. His performance was hardly eye-catching; however, the Celtic back four are so much better with him in the centre. He can play a bit too and was commanding in the air. 7

KIERAN TIERNEY

Believe it or not, this was the first full cup final and, the left-back was as you would expect. Good. He didn’t give his friend Chris Cadden a kick and in attack his delivery deserved more from his team-mates in the penalty box. 7

SCOTT BROWN

From his words in an extended huddle to the final minute, this was a captain’s performance. Brown may not have done anything too flashy but he was terrific in defence where he made countless tackles and interceptions when Motherwell did threaten. Hardly gave the ball away all afternoon. 8

STUART ARMSTRONG

Struggled to find space and time on the ball in what was a close first-half but grew into the game. Made Trevor Carson work with a couple of shots and by the end found that space so lacking before and made some great runs through the Motherwell midfield. 7

JAMES FORREST

The bigger the game, the bigger a performance Celtic get from their winger. He was one of the few in hoops who was on their game from the start and his goal, a lovely left-foot curled effort, more or less cemented the final for his team. 8.5

CALLUM MCGREGOR

Some lovely touches and turns in the No10 position, he is capable of sublime moments, and without being at his very best, was one of Celtic’s better players from start to finish. Although his shooting was, erm, not great. 7

SCOTT SINCLAIR

Whisper this, but last season’s best player in Scotland is having an uneven season, which is a polite way of saying he’s not been all that. Not much came off for him and while technically it was (probably) penalty, he went down too easily. 6

MOUSSA DEMBELE

Did well to get up from a shocking challenge by Cedric Kipre early on and while not at his best, he more than played his part. The Frenchman’s link-up play was superb, he did miss two headers, but was never going to miss from the penalty spot which sealed the game. Booked for a poor tackle of his own. 7

Substitute

LEIGH GRIFFITHS

Replaced Dembele on 64 minutes and almost scored with a bullet of a free-kick and hit the post when past the keeper late on. Looked sharp. 6

PATRICK ROBERTS

Got on for the last 15 minutes, for Forrest, and really entertained the crown with his dribbling. There is an argument that he deserves his place ahead of Sinclair. 6

TOM ROGIC

Was given the final few minute and almost scored during that time. 5
