Rangers 2, Celtic 0

September 23

The manner in which the first derby game was won more than suggested the gap was as big as ever. Tom Rogic and Leigh Griffiths got the goals, Scott Brown put Pedro Caixinha in his place and the Portuguese was soon no more.

Rangers created just one clear-cut chance, as Celtic bossed the game from start to finish. It was a sign of things to come.

The Rangers manager even ended up being taken out by Josh Windass, his own player.

Aberdeen 0, Celtic 3

October 25

Aberdeen were not going away, that much was for sure, and this was going to be game when they showed Celtic what they were all about.

It turned into one of the champions best displays for the season.

With Scott Brown in control of the midfield. Kieran Tierney scored a superb goal, followed by a Moussa Dembele double. Had Celtic been in the mood, it could have been a whole lot more.

Motherwell 1, Celtic 1

November 29

Just three days after the League Cup final, these two met again and Motherwell threw everything at Celtic.

It seemed as if the unbeaten domestic run was about to end when Mikael Lustig scored an own goal with 12 minutes to go, but this was a perfect example of a good team managing to take something out of a below average night.

They kept attacking, Callum McGregor won a penalty, and Scott Sinclair converted with 90 seconds remaining.

Celtic 1, Hibernian 0

January 27

Griffiths scored a lovely goal in the a first-half which ended in Craig Gordon being injured. Dorus de Vries took his place and made some good saves to keep out Hibs. Again, even when things went against Celtic, they found a way.

Aberdeen 0, Celtic 2

February 25

This was the day when Brown was kicked and had a ball kicked at him when on the ground, and still jumped up with a smile on his face.

He was saying: “You can do all you want but I’m still the man.”

Tierney likes Pittodrie and scored a superb late goal to seal the win after Lustig had been sent off, with Dembele scoring in the first-half.

And that was the end of the challenge from the North East.

Rangers 2, Celtic 3

March 11

This was the day when the title was all-but won. It feels like ancient history now but Rangers were going well and had hopes of even overtaking Celtic.

They scored twice, both times to take the lead, created lot of good opportunities and Celtic had a man sent off early in the second-half when Jozo Simunovic saw red.

And Celtic still won.

Tom Rogic’s goal was superb, as was Dembele’s before half-time and then with their only shot at goal, having played for so long with ten men, Odsonnne Edouard scored superbly in front of the Celtic fans.

Celtic 5, Rangers 0

April 29

We had to end with yesterday’s game. It was five going on ten as the usual suspects did the business for Celtic who in truth looked miles in front of their so-called rivals.

The title was sealed and any pretence of a gap being closed gone for at least until next season.
