THE SFA today agreed a bumper £60m TV rights deal - the biggest broadcasting windfall in their history.
Sky Sports and the BBC have secured the rights to show Scotland home internationals and the Scottish Cup between 2010 and 2014.
The deal will be worth between £55- £60 million over the course of the four year period and is more than double the size of the existing arrangement.
Sky Sports will have exclusive rights to Scotland's home matches, while the BBC will have the rights to broadcast highlights.
In the Scottish Cup, Sky will be entitled to broadcast nine live matches per season - including first pick of any replays. BBC will have five live Scottish Cup matches (including the final) as well as second pick of any replays.
SFA Chief Executive Gordon Smith was delighted with the deal and says the money will be invested in all levels.
Smith said: "The SFA every year invests millions of pounds in Scotland's clubs, players and coaches. Thanks to this deal we will be able to take this to a new level and make sure more people than ever have a chance to play football and enjoy the game.
"We have seen so much improvement in our national team in recent years. Our club sides have flown the flag for our country in Europe and our men's and women's national teams have risen up the world rankings. There is a sense of optimism about our future and this deal only adds to it.
"The funding means we have an opportunity to take our game on and to achieve even more. Getting kids to play the game will make us a prouder, healthier nation and help us qualify for major championships and taste success at club level."
