Fergus says Sons can be pass masters

DUMBARTON midfielder Fergus Tiernan believes the Sons can escape from the Irn-Bru Third Division by playing a passing game.

Jim Chapman's side have already been hit by an early- season injury crisis caused by the physical nature of the basement game.

But Tiernan said: "I think far too much is made of the Third Division being a kick and rush league and of how physical it is. We have recruited a lot of quality like Stevie Murray and big Paul Keegan and Derek Carcary over the summer, and we are confident we can go up by playing passing football.

"We got a big win at Berwick last week and that has really set us up for the visit of Stenhousemuir and if we can take three more points hopefully we can get some real momentum going."

Elsewhere Albion Rovers entertain Berwick.
