The Irishman is scheduled to partner Main Sequence in the Derby on Saturday week, and although the favourite, Camelot, is odds on, Durcan claims punters would be rather foolish to overlook his boy on the big day.
"The rider said: "I have enormous respect for everything in the race, but I have huge belief in my horse.
"He has been winning with loads up his sleeve, but until we go to Epsom, we will not know much. I am heading for Epsom really excited, and until we find out otherwise, I'm treating my lad as a serious horse.
"When you ask anyone what's the key to acting around Epsom, they say you have to travel – and Main Sequence travels extremely well."
