The Parkhead full-back is a transfer target for Bundesliga clubs Hertha Berlin and Borussia Dortmund.

But Hinkel has been assured by manager Tony Mowbray he is still very much in his plans and is more than happy to continue playing for the club.

Hinkel’s agent Klaus Schaude confirmed his client isn’t looking to depart the club during the current transfer window.

He said: “Andreas is still happy with his life in Glasgow and there is no need for him to push for a move.

“I have heard all the talk about other clubs being interested in him, but I have had no approach.

“Andreas has a young family and has made no secret of the fact he’s content at Celtic and in Scotland.

“He still has 18 months of his contract to run and he’s only thinking about Celtic.”

But one player who wasn’t blown away with the opportunity to play for the Hoops is Slovakia under-21 star Milos Lacny.

The striker had two separate trial spells with Celtic at Lennoxtown, but decided to sign for Czech outfit Sparta Prague.

He said: “I am enormously happy to become a Sparta player.

“I have been more interested in joining them than other clubs and that’s why I made a quick decision for them.

“There will be a bigger chance for me to gain experience here than at Celtic.”

Meanwhile, former Celtic striker Charlie Nicholas believes the Parkhead club can’t afford to turn down any £10million offer for Aiden McGeady.

He said: “It is too much money for them not to accept.”
