Beram Kayal’s agent relieves exit fear

Beram Kayal’s agent has moved to dampen fears he was in Glasgow this week to discuss the midfielder’s future with Celtic.

Dudu Dahan met with manager Neil Lennon at Lennoxtown, fuelling speculation that the 22-year-old Israel star – who has attracted interest from Liverpool and Manchester United – might be looking for a quick exit to the Premiership.

Kayal – who has three more years of his deal to run – has already been quoted in his homeland saying he believes it would take a £10million offer to get Celtic interested in selling him. But Dahan denied there is any dialogue about an exit strategy and said: “For the moment we are not talking about anything regarding Beram. “We’ll wait until the end of the season, until Celtic are champions. I will not say anything because I will not ruin Beram’s fantastic season or his focus.” One aspect of his current deal which may be up for negotiation is Kayal’s wage, believed to stand at around £7000 per week. Having made such a positive impact since his arrival in a £1.2m deal during the summer, an increase towards the top earners at the club could be in the pipeline. But again Dahan is playing his cards close to his chest and said: “The last thing I’ll do is talk about Beram or money or anything. “He needs to be focused on his football, nothing else. All this can wait until the season is over and we’ll talk then.”
